anatrepsis
n. [Gr. anatrepein, to turn over]
1. Increase of movement during blastokinesis.
2. (ARTHROPODA: Insecta)
In blastokinesis, a term used to describe the movement of the embryo inside the egg from one pole to another; refers to different activities in different groups of insects, i.e., ventral to dorsal, dorsal to ventral; see katatrepsis.
